Karnam Malleswari (born 1 June 1975) is a retired Indianweightlifter. She is the first Indian woman to finish first in a medal at the Olympics in 2000. In 1994, she received the Arjuna Furnish and in 1999, she received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's highest sporty honour, and the civilian Padma Shri honour.
